“Why not fall asleep on the job?” Scott Shellstrom asked.
Take a moment to count the decisions you’ve made so far today. Most likely, you woke up and decided what to wear, decided what to eat for breakfast, and what route to take to work. Then once you sat down at your desk, you opened up your email to determine what tasks needed your attention today.
FACT: No two brains are alike. Every individual processes things differently— including our ability to problem solve. Problem solving takes hard work and focus. Too much focus on a problem, however, can lead to brain fatigue, ultimately making it harder for you to solve the problem at hand. What is the solution? Walk away, refocus, and maybe…take a nap.
